The <br />format was developed based on 115D-54 of the Community College Laws and they do need the total budget <br />approved by the Board of Trustees and the Local Boards. It is then approved by the State Board of Community <br />Colleges. I spoke with Annette Dishner, Budget and Accounting, and she understood your concern. She <br />suggested you attach a statement on county letterhead stating that your Board is approving the $1,355,400 <br />county appropriation. Hope this helps. I am <br />not sure of the individual who brought this form to the County from RCCC but I have spoken with her <br />once since then. I have also left at least once message with Derrick Atkins, Accountant, concerning this <br />form. I believe I have had the form since early November. It has a section for Required Budget Request <br />Sign-Off. The statement the County Board is requested to sign states the following: The attached College <br />Budget has been reviewed and approved in the amount of $34,296,145 on ,2005 by the County <br />Commissioners of Cabarrus County. , Chairman. Our Board approved an amount <br />of funding for the community college totaling $1,335,400 for FY 2005-2006. No one has answered the <br />question as to why we (Cabarrus County) need to sign this form since we do not approve your funding <br />from the State or Rowan County. <br /> <br />If this needs to be placed on our agenda, I will need to do so by next week.
