These funds come from the Department of Homeland Security and are <br />awarded through the NC Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, Division of Emergency <br />Management. <br /> <br />These grants are used to ensure adequate preparedness to an act of terrorism within the State ofNC, funding <br />is limited to the procurement of certain equipment. We have been authorized to purchase radiation <br />detection monitoring equipment to be used by local emergency response agencies in accordance with the <br />State Homeland Security Strategy and the Cabarrus County Emergency Operations Plan. <br /> <br />This grant is fully fillanced by DHS, no county funds are required. <br /> <br />I respectfully request that you authorize me to sign the attached memorandum of Agreement with the State <br />ofNC to receive these funds and approve the attached budget amendment. <br /> <br />Thank you. <br /> <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />HOR~MA= <br /> <br />Cabarrus County. 65 Church Street, SE..
