<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # F - 10 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 4/17/06 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />2005 Homeland Security Grant - Blackhawk Tactical Air Masks <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Emergency Management Dept. has been awarded a 2005 Homeland Security Grant <br />for obtaining equipment to be used on-scene by first responder units. This equipment will <br />be used in the event of a WMD or domestic terrorist attack, major disasters, and other <br />emergencies to protect human life, property, and the environment. This grant allows a <br />100% reimbursement for purchases not exceeding $228,000. EM plans to purchase 67 <br />Blackhawk MMR Tactical Air Masks with accessories at a cost of $227,666.
