Due to increases in advertising costs, a large percentage of the fees currently assessed <br />are paid to the newspapers for required legal ads. <br /> <br />. As Cabarrus County grows, zoning cases, subdivision reviews and site plan reviews are <br />becoming more complex, thus requiring additional staff time for review and coordination <br />with outside agencies. <br /> <br />. There are several services currently provided to the public that involve research and <br />mailings for which no fee is charged. The cost of processing these items is completely <br />absorbed by the Commerce Department. <br /> <br />. The last time that fees were adjusted for the Planning and Zoning Divisions was in July <br />of 2004. <br /> <br />. The Planning and Zoning Division requests consideration of the following changes to <br />the fee structure effective on July 1, 2006: <br /> <br />~-I <br />
