Consult with other organizations in direct competition with Easter Seals UCP North Carolina without <br />written consent from the CEO, <br />3. Provide services which would any way infringe upon employee responsibilities to the individuals or <br />families supported. <br />4. Enter into private practice with Easter Seals UCP North Carolina individuals or families. <br />5. Solicit Easter Seals UCP North Carolina individuals or families for private employment or practice, <br />6. Solicit individuals or families or donors for personal gain, <br />7. Engage in unauthorized use of the organization's facilities for personal gain, <br />8. Accept fee for services using organization-obtained knowledge or materials without written consent <br />of the President, <br />9. Benefit fmancially or otherwise, from any of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina grants or contracts <br />other than as an Easter Seals UCP North Carolina employee. <br />10. Recruit current Easter Seals UCP North Carolina employees for employment with other employers. <br /> <br />PURPOSE: <br /> <br />To avoid potential conflict of interest or the appearance of impropriety in the day to day conduct of Easter <br />Seals UCP North Carolina business. <br /> <br />PROCEDURES: <br />PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING/CONTRACTING: <br />I. Any staff member who independently consults with other entities must identity any of these entities <br />who may be in direct competition with Easter Seals UCP North Carolina. Under no circumstance <br />may an Easter Seals UCP North Carolina employee privately contract with an existing Easter Seals <br />UCP North Carolina client. <br />2. If any existing individuals or families of a staff member are found to be in direct competition with the <br />organization, the consulting staff member must discuss the client and types of activities performed <br />with the President. In some cases, the conflict of interest may be deemed too great to continue both <br />the employment and consulting relationship in which case a decision between the President and the <br />employee will need to be reached. . <br />3. Written permission must be provided by the President prior to contracting with any direct competitors <br />of the Easter Seals UCP North Carolina. <br /> <br />FEES. HONORARIA AND OTHER PAYMENTS: <br />1. If staff represent the organization to outside institutions. agencies, or groups and conduct activities on <br />organization time, the organization will receive full fee. <br />2. If a professional staff member represents hislher profession outside the organization but on <br />organization time, the organization will receive one-half the fee, and the staff member will receive <br />one-half the fee. <br />3. If a staff member represents hislher profession and not the organization on personal time, he/she will <br />receive full fee for consultant services. <br /> <br />B-6 <br />F-IS <br />
