I was not able to specify the exact amount at that time since the funding distribution was still
under review by the legislature. This is to inform you that for Fiscal Year 2006-2007 the legislature authorized additional funding for the
Criminal Justice Partnership Program and also modified the methodology by which funds are distributed to counties. As a result, your
county's funding amount has changed from your initial application amount of $120,390 to $124,449 with an effective date of July 1, 2006.

Again, please note that your final grant award amount is different from the amount you initially applied for. Because of this
change in grant award amount, it is necessary that you submit a "Funding Modification form," which can be found on the CJPP home page
at htto://cioD.doc.state.nc.us under "Announcements." This form is to be completed and returned to the Division of Community
Corrections, CJPP fiscal office in Raleigh by September 29, 2006. A sample of the "Punding Modification form" is enclosed. For
assistance with the completion of this form, contact Sandra Shearin in the CJPP office in Raleigh at (919) 716-3116.

Additionally, enclosed you will find a grant award contract, and "Designated Authority for Reimbursement Requests" forms, which
are to be completed and returned by November 1, 2006. Please review these documents and inform all relevant parties of their
responsibilities. It is necessary that the COUNTY'S AUTHORIZING OFFICIAL SIGN AND RETURN all documents to Valery
Stephens (4250 MSC, Raleigh, NC 27699-4250) as soon as possible. All documents and fonns must be completed and on file in the Division
of Community Corrections, CJPP office in Raleigh before reimbursements to the local county programs can begin.

Again, I join the North Carolina State Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board and the Partnership staff in offering
congratulations on receiving this grant. Thank you for your continuing support of this important effort.

With kind personal regards, I remain

Sincerely,

te....l.,~~...L

Theodis Beck
Secretary

TB/vrs
Enclosures

cc: Robert Lee Guy, Director ofDCC
Karen Pardue, CJPP Administrator
Joe Prater, Chief of Administrative Services for DCe
Roselyn Powell, Division Administrator Div.
