The total requested funds were $78,247. The Cabarrus County
Parks and Recreation Commission recommended awarding $78,247 toward four
community projects. Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approved $100,000 in
funds for FY 2006-2007.

With $21,753 of Matching Incentive Grant funds unawarded, the Cabarrus
County Parks and Recreation Commission recommended to sponsor a second cycle
grant application period in the Fall, 2006. With only four grant applications this year, the
Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission is considering revising the
application period to a different time of the year for the FY 2007-2008 budget year.

With the current application period of July 1 through August 15, many non-profit
groups (PTO's, Booster Clubs, Athletic Associations, etc.) are not active during the
summer months.

The attached summary sheet outlines the grant requests for FY 2006-2007 for
the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners to review and consider.

If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me.

F- /1
