<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 10/30/06 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />~- \ \ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Budget Amendment - APFO Reimbursement for Affordable Housing <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />In February 2005, the Board adopted a revision to the Adequate Public Facilities <br />Ordinance (APFO) to include a provision for vouchers or reimbursement of the contribution <br />for low income housing construction. No funds have been budgeted for this plan, and the <br />Commerce Department is aware of 24 homes planned by nonprofits (Prosperity Unlimited <br />and Habitat) that would be eligible this year-totaling $96,816 ($4,034 each). The budget <br />amendment increases inspection fee revenue to cover this expense.
