Not extending beyond four (4) months. <br /> <br />The main aspects of the Cabarrus County EA program are as follows: <br />1. All funding for EA except for a 10% set-aside will be used for a documented <br />work-related crisis situation. <br />2. In order to receive EA, there must be a minor child residing in the home. The <br />definition of age, kinship, and citizenship will be the same as in the Work First <br />program requirements. <br />3, Eligibility for EA will be based on 150% of the Federal poverty level. Monthly <br />Income $1,225 $1,650 $2,075 $2,500 $2,925 $3,350 $3,775 $4,200 <br /> <br />*For each additional member, add $425,00. <br /> <br />4. The base period for computing gross income is the month prior to the application <br />for EA, unless a change has occurred in hours, employment, or pay. <br />5. There will be a $300.00 maximum assistance payment per family during a <br />consecutivl'! year beginning from when last EA payment was received. <br />6. The family'applying for EA must have at least one employed adult member or one <br />disabled adult member of the household. <br />7, The family budget must show that the family can maintain ongoing bills once EA <br />is given. If this is not the case, EA may not be appropriate. <br />8. Budget counseling will be provided on each EA application. <br />9. Services to!be provided through EA are as follows, when there are emergency <br />needs, and !ire directly related to obtaining or maintaining employment: <br />. Car repairs <br />. Emergl'!ncy housing for victims of family violence <br />. Temporary housing for displaced families in a crisis situation <br />. Past due rent (must have an eviction notice) <br />. Licensl!s deemed necessary for work and inability to get license will <br />jeoparqize employment <br />. Utility ~xpenses (must have disconnect notice) <br />. Transpprtation assistance when needed to relocate (distance of relocation will <br />impact!ability to assist) <br />. Mediclll needs not covered by MedicarelMedicaid, when financially practical <br />to pay for them <br />. Insurance premiums only when deemed an emergency to retain a job or lose <br />health Insurance coverage <br />. Fees only when deemed necessary to retain II job <br />.
