<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # E. - 3 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 11/20/06 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Construction Contract for Sheriff's Office and Detention Center - Amendment #2 <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />On Nov. 13, the Board met with representatives of Tumer Construction to review contract <br />documents related to the construction of the Sheriff's Office and Detention Center. A draft <br />of Amendment #2, presented at that meeting, is attached. Minor changes to the draft are <br />anticipated and will be forwarded to Board members prior to the Nov. 20 regular meeting. <br />The guaranteed maximum price in the draft will be reduced as a result of value <br />engineering efforts approved by the Board on Nov. 13.
