.L ....b""' ... v........

Simaan, Leila E. . (CHA)

Jj.
~!".,

pea
Oi6

From: David Russell [drussell@hallcontracting.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 25, 2006 11 :44 AM
To: Pyle, Scott - CHA
Cc: Simaan., Leila E. - (CHA)
Subject: Revised pricing and clarifications for tunnel split schedule

Scott,

Attached is Hall's revised Proposal Request Form #039 with the costs associated with the phasing of the tunnel
installation. The lump sum costs associated with the attached tunnel schedule is $65,448.00.

The goal is to install the southern two-thirds of the tunnel and reopen Corban Ave. by the end of 11/22/06. The
Owner would close the road again by 1/7/07 to allow us tocomplete the tunnel installation at the existing
courthouse.

Clarification:

1. HalIwill not proceed with the increased work hours until we have received a written acceptance of
this proposal and price. We will work five - ten hour days per week until approval is received.
2. Hall does not guarantee that the southern 2/3's (under Corban Ave.) of the tunnel can be installed and
covered by 11/22/06, If it appears that we can't get the tunnel all the way across Corban Ave, we will stop
the tunnel installation and backfill and pave so the road can be opened by 11/22/06. If this were to happen
there will an additional cost to remove the asphalt and re-excavate the tunnel area.
3. There will be days were we need to work during dark times. This is why it is necessary we have diesel
powered lights on site. We would not be needing lights if we would have done this work 12 weeks ago
when the days where longer and we had day light savings time.
4. The schedule is based on perfect weather conditions, no uncovered surprises, and not interferences from
others.
5. To save time the road is to be replaced with 10" of binder instead of the 10" of ABC, 2.25" of surface and 2"
of top.
6. Price includes keeping the waterproofing materials warm enough fN application.
7. Price includes concrete blankets. Additional means of protecting th.e concrete from freezing is not included
in this price.
8. These clarifications to be incorporated into the change order.
9. Turner to place no limitation on the days and hours worked.
10. Turner to help with coordinating any work with the utility companies for unknown conditions.
11. The price is based on abandoning all sheet piles north of Corban Ave. (Phase II of the tunnel)
12. Curbing and walks to be replaced during or after phase two of the tunnel.

Exclusions:
1. All WNk not specifically described in this emall.
2. Costs for modification of the tunnel sections.
3. Road striping.
4. Removal and replacement of road detour signage.
5. Costs of road detour signage.
6. Repairs to road surface or other structures damaged by others. Jeff and Elvin have been taking pictures.
7. Relocation, adding or removing of the temporary construction fence.
8. Clean up of debris left by the public utility contractors and/or the owner.
9. There is no overtime in phase two of the tunnel work.

G-3

lO/7.'i/7.001i
