Current Inmate Health Plan Sheriffs budget for jail inmate health care includes funding for the following items: Current Budget Spent (As of9-l-06) Southern Health Partners $ 410,688.00 $ 68,870.00 (Two full-time Nurses and Doctor to Supervise nurses and see inmates) . Medical Treatments ($20,000.00) ($ 0) (Provided only to show you how much is budgeted to cover the contract-this account is only used in excess of SHP contract amounts.) This would cover payments for inmate related inpatient treatments outside of Jail and over the limits of liability for Southern.) . Medical Supplies ($4.000.00) ($ 0) (Provided only to show you how much is budgeted to cover the contract-this account is only used in excess of SHP contract amounts.) This would cover payments for inmate related inpatient treatments outside of Jail and over the limits of liability for Southern.) Total $410,688.00 $ 68,870.00 (average of $34,435 for July / August 2006) Balance: $ 341,818.00 (If avg. continues: will need $344,350.00) Southern Health Partners Our Current health contract provides Nursing (RN) care at the jail from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm each week day and from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday. The Doctor comes in the jail two days per week for 2 hours or as needed to perform duties. Relief staffing is also trained and oriented by Southern at their cost prior to being assigned to solo duty at the jail. One of the RN's is a Psychiatric Registered Nurse that is able to evaluate and deal with the mental health issues of inmates. Southern pays for all prescriptions, medications, medical supplies, outside medical treatments, blood work, x-rays, etc. associated with medical evaluation and treatment of the inmates. These costs are entirely the responsibility of the Southern within the limits set in the RFP. These limits are as follows: Contract year cost of inpatient treatment of inmates outside the jail shall be capped at $70,000 for all inmates in the aggregate. F- Iz.
