<br />Reference Check - Compass Facility Manaeement <br /> <br />Name of Facility - The Alerus Center <br /> <br />Location of Facility - Grand Forks, North Dakota <br /> <br />Person Interviewed - Sandy Glas, Chairperson for the Events Center Commission <br /> <br />Type of Facility - 20,000 seat arena with convention center and ballroom <br /> <br />Previous Management - new facility - Compass helped design and hired to manage <br /> <br />Reason for selecting firm - RFP process, council and community chose Compass <br /> <br />Length of contract - 3 years with two I year extensions <br /> <br />Satisfaction level- very good <br /> <br />Consideration of contract extension - yes, just agreed to five additional years <br /> <br />Contract Structure/Management Fees - Original contract structured for base fee plus <br />incentives, current contract is totally performance based. <br /> <br />Goals met - somewhat - City sets goals, economic impact, visitors, quality of shows <br /> <br />Budget info - budget for contributions Sales Tax <br /> <br />Additional comments- <br /> <br />1. Not sure if Commission assisted in selection of General Manager. <br />2. Staffis community oriented and stays involved. <br />3. Events - some good years, some not so good. <br />4.
