Brownell <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />December 7,2004 <br /> <br />Dear Carolyn: <br /> <br />Once again congratulations on your selection as Chair. I am very pleased that you will be <br />working with us as the liaison to the Commissioners. <br /> <br />This is a follow up to today's conversation with you as well as a previous conversation I <br />had with Bob Carruth a couple of weeks ago. Trustee Richard Hudson has accepted a <br />position with Senator Virginia Foxx and will be moving to Washington, DC. On behalf <br />of the Chairman and trustees, I respectfully request that you appoint Cyndie Mynatt to fill <br />out the remainder of Richard Hudson's four-year term on the board, which expires on <br />June 30,2005. I have talked with Cynwe and she would be very pleased to accept this <br />appointment. Hopefully she will be reappointed for a full tenn in her own right after that. <br /> <br />As you know Ben Mynatt was Vice Chairman for our board for many years and was <br />instrumental in the creation of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College as the first truly <br />multi-campus conimunity college in North Carolina. My staff and I have worked very <br />closely with Cyndie Mynatt through the years and are most impressed by the way she <br />continues her family tradition of public service through active involvement with the <br />Chamber of Commerce and many other community service activities. She will make a <br />fine trustee. Please appoint 4er at your January meeting. <br /> <br />Richard Hudson will submit his letter of resignation by the first of next year, but his term <br />as a trustee will not expire WitH the Commissioners name his replacement. <br /> <br />Carolyn, thank you once again for your long support of this college.
