<br />f. Employees who had previously been scheduled for vacation leave shall be <br />charged such leave for the appropriate period. <br /> <br />g. Employees who call in sick during emergency or inclement weather conditions <br />may, at the discretion of the supervisor, be required to provide a doctor's certificate to <br />substantiate charging the absence to sick leave. An employee who fails to bring in the <br />required certificate when requested to do so will have the time automatically reported as <br />vacation leave and may be subject to disciplinary action. <br /> <br />3. Government Offices Prevented.from Opening <br /> <br />a. The County Manager or his designee, are the only individuals authorized to close <br />county offices under this plan. <br /> <br />b. All essential employees will report to their regular duties, shift or emergency shift, <br />as appropriate. <br /> <br />c. All non-essential employees are excused from reporting to work. These <br />employees will be reported as on vacation leave or compensatory time and shall be charged <br />accordingly for the appropriate period. <br /> <br />d. Employees on previously approved leave status are still on le~ve status and willbe <br />reported in accordance with established personnel ordinance. <br /> <br />G. Notification <br /> <br />1. The Deputy County Manager, Operations, will conduct the notification of county <br />government offices once the Inclement Weather Plan is approved. He will inform the department <br />heads of the response level. The department heads will ensure that they are aware of the weather <br />situation and the county response level. <br /> <br />2. The Public Information Officer will contact all local media outlets and brief them on <br />the status of County Government using the following formats. <br /> <br />a. Early Closing <br /> <br />"All Cabarrus County Government offices will close today at <br />departments will remain open." <br /> <br />p.m. Essential <br /> <br />If the Inclement Weather Leave Plan is authorized: <br />"All Cabarrus County Government offices will close today at p.m. Essential <br />departments will remain open. The Inclement Weather Leave Plap is in effect for non..;essential <br />personnel. " <br /> <br />b.
