<br />With these types of improvements, Cabarrus County's grant request may receive a <br />competitive edge for potential grant award. <br /> <br />Fundina Reauest <br /> <br />On December 13, 2004, the City of Kannapolis Council approved to provide up to <br />$150,000 funds for matching support to this grant request. Cabarrus County's share of <br />the grant request is $150,000. The following is a brief summary of funding shares: <br /> <br />Cabarrus County (25%) <br />City of Kannapolis (25%) <br />State of North Carolina Grant (50%) <br /> <br />Total park Project Cost <br /> <br />$150,000 <br />150,000 <br />300,000 <br />$ 600,000 <br /> <br />Ownership or Lease <br />The applicant must own or have at least a 25-year lease on the property where a NC <br />PARTF project will be located. The applicant must submit copies of the deed or the <br />lease with the application. To be eligible for this State Grant program, the current lease <br />agreements between City pf Kannapolis, Church of God Children's Home, and <br />Cabarrus County must be lamended to allow for another 25-year period. To allow for <br />another grant submission within the next year or two, an additional three-year period <br />revision is requested for these two lease agreements. On December 3, 2004, the <br />Church of God Children's Home approved this revised lease agreement. On December <br />13, 2004, the City of Kannapolis Council approved the revised lease agreement. <br /> <br />Selected Recipients <br />The North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority, an eleven (11) member board <br />appointed by the Governor, and the General Assembly, selects which applicants will <br />receive a NC PARTF Grant. <br /> <br />Fundina Schedule <br />Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on January 31,2005, to the applicant's regional <br />recreation consultant. By Mayor June, 2005, the Parks and Recreation Authority <br />selects recipients using NC PARTF funds. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 704.920.3352 or <br />704.791.7814.
