<br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 2/21/05 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # E - :+ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />2005 Planning Process Update <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />A progress report will be presented to the Board of Commissioners related to the planning <br />issues and activities being addressed during the County's moratorium on major subdivision <br />approvals. <br /> <br />Also, the steering committee has chosen a consulting firm to assist with the planning <br />process and ordinance review and revision. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Approve attached contract with Duncan Associates., and adopt budget amendment. <br /> <br />Attachments ~ Yes 0 No Expected Length of Presentation 10 minutes <br />Submitted By: Rodger Lentz, Planning and Zoning Manager Date: 2/10/05 <br /> <br />Budget Amendment Required: ~ Yes 0 No <br /> <br />Budget Amendment Attached and Reviewed by Budget Officer: 0 Yes 0 No <br /> <br />County Manager's Recommendations/Comments: <br />Because of time constraints, Duncan associates has already been engaged to perform the <br />first task associated with the multijurisdictional planning process provided for in the <br />memorandum of understanding approved by Cabarrus County, Concord, Kannapolis and <br />Harrisburg on December 6, 2004. <br /> <br />The remaining 4 tasks will cost $73,042 and Board approval is required to complete the <br />project before June 20, 2005, when the moratorium ends.
