<br /> <br />ARTICLE I. TITLE AND PURPOSE <br /> <br />The contiguous units of lbcal government listed below, being desirous of agreeing to an <br />undertaking pursuant to tho provisions of N.C.G.S. Section 160A-464(1), do hereby agree to <br />establish a workforce development consortium to act jointly as a Local Workforce Investment <br />Area for workforce developtnent under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, P.L. 105- <br />220, including the Incumb4nt Workforce Development Program (IWDP); the North Carolina <br />Employment and Training Grant Program (NCETGP), NC GS 143B-438.6; and under National <br />Emergency Grant (NEG) f!.mding through the US Department of Labor, as amended. This <br />consortium shall be known as the Centralina Workforce Development Consortium. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />;, <br />.~ <br /> <br />ARTICLE II. MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br />The consortium shall be cOI$osed of the following independent and contiguous units of general- <br />purpose local government: +nson. Cabarrus. Iredell. Lincoln. Rowan. Stanlv. and <br />Union Counties. <br />. <br /> <br />ARTICIj;E III. CERTIFICATION OF AUTHORITY <br />I. AUTHORITY UNDER StATE AND LOCAL LAW <br /> <br />In accordance with N.C.G.S. iSections 160A-460 et. sea., the member counties of the Centralina <br />Workforce Development Cori$ortium certify that they possess full legal authority, as provided by <br />state and local law, to enter into this agreement and to fulfill the legal and financial requirements <br />of operating as a Local Workforce Investment Area under the Workforce Investment Act, the <br />NCETGP, and any NationaI!Emergency Grant for the entire geographic area covered by this <br />agreement. <br /> <br />1-- / ~ <br /> <br /> <br />2. SPECIFIC RESOLUTIONS TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT <br /> <br />In accordance with N.C.G,S'i Section 160A-461, a copy of the duly executed resolution and <br />appropriate board meeting mi~utes giving the respective counties specific authority to enter into <br />this consortium agreement ~ll be. attached to this document and are incorporated herein by <br />reference. ' <br />
