<br />Cabarrus COWlty will be applying for transportation funding through the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation Public Transportation Division (NCDOT -PID) for funding <br />provided by the Rural Operations Assistance Program (ROAP). FWlding applied for is <br />designated for transportation to the Elderly and Disabled Transportation Assistance <br />Program (EDT AP); Work First Program; and Rural General Purpose programs. <br /> <br />The amounts applied for if$71,691.00 inEDTAP funding; $7,135.00 in Work First <br />fWlding; and $50,189.00 in RGP funding. EDTAP fWlding must be used to provide <br />services to the elderly and or handicapped populations who otherwise are not eligible for <br />program assistance to maintain access to necessary life sustaining services. The Work <br />First funding must be used to provide work access to persons eligible for this assistance <br />program. The RGP funding must be used to provide access to link rural and urban <br />residents to necessary services and or employment opportunities. <br /> <br />The County will hold a public hearing regarding this funding application on April 18, <br />2005 at 6:30 pm in the COWlty Commissioners chambers in the COWlty Governmental <br />Center. <br /> <br />The amoWlts of funding available for this application are set by the NCDOT -PID and <br />this pending application may be inspected at the Transportation office at 50 Beechwood <br />Ave. Monday through Friday from 8 am Wltil 5 pm.
