<br />Ordinance No. 2005- <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, that <br />Chapter 26, Article III, First Responder Program (Sections 26-51 through 26-68) of the Code of <br />Ordinances, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />First Responder Ordinance <br /> <br />Amended and approved September 21, 1998 <br /> <br />Code of Ordinances, Caharrus County, North Carolina. <br />Chapter 26 Emergency Services, <br />Article III First Responder Program, Sections 26 -51 through 26-68 <br /> <br />ARTICLE III. FIRST RESPONDER PROGRAM <br /> <br />Sec. 26-51. Purpose of article. <br /> <br />The Ceounty Eemergency Mmedical Sservice has transport vehicles certified by the Sstate <br />Oaffice of Eemergency Mmedical Sservices (OEMS), which are manned by personnel trained <br />and certified as pParamedics (EMT-P). The service has (6) stations which serve the county. ~ <br />maiR station, StatieR 1, is loeatea iR the Rorth'l.-est part of COReer.a. Station 2 is loeatea OR <br />Highway 19 aefess from Ce!ltfal Cabarrus High Seliee!. StatieR 3 is leeatea OR Jaekson Street in <br />Mollllt Pleasant ana proviaes eovefllge for the Rortheast seetion ef the eellllty. Station 1 <br />preseatly operates eat of Fielaerest CanaeR's Fire Statien OR Nerth Leep Roaa ana serves the <br />Rorthem part ef Kanaapolis llIia the Roftlw/est seetieR ef the Co1iRty. Statien '7 is staffea at <br />Ceneera Fire StatioR Five eR Pitts Selleol Roaa and eevers the westem part ef the Collllty. <br />Station 8 is staffea at MiElllllia '101anteer Statien on Highway tlO 1, Seath ana soyers the <br />seHthern most part ef tile ColffitJ'. Presently our a'/erage reSjloRse time is less than five (5) <br />miflHtes. The primary goal of an emergency medical service system is to reduce the probability <br />of death of a victim by providing trained, well-equipped personnel at the scene of an accident or <br />illness in a prompt, efficient, and coordinated manner.
