<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />G-9 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 5/23/05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Zoning Text Amendment C05-03(ZT) Public Hearing <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The proposed zoning text changes would eliminate the language that currently defines the <br />make-up of the Planning & Zoning Commission. If this amendment is adopted the Board <br />will need to adopt a policy for the appointment and make-up of the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission. The text change, basic parameters of a policy (as outlined by discussion at <br />the Board of Commissioners work session) and the minutes of the current Planning & <br />Zoning Commission review of this text amendment are attached. The Planning & Zoning <br />Commission voted 9-0 to recommend denial of this petition. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Hold public hearing and vote on text amendment. If the amendment is approved the Board <br />should consider adopting a policy for the make-up and appointment of the Planning & <br />Zoning Commission.
