<br />PETITION C05-03(ZT) <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2005-_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY ZONING <br />ORDINANCE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance is. hereby <br />amended as follows: <br /> <br />Part II. The Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Section 12-15. Establishment of Commission. <br /> <br />In order to exercise the powers authorized in General Statute 153A-344 and <br />153A-345, the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission is hereby <br />established. The Commission shall be comprised of nine (9) members appointed <br />by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. Members shall be residents of <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Members shall be appointed per the adopted policy of the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />Section 12-16. Alternate members. <br /> <br />The Board of Commissioners shall also appoint three (3) alternate <br />members to serve on the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission in <br />the absence, for any cause, of any regular member. Such alternate members shall <br />be appointed for three year terms and shall have and exercise all the powers and <br />duties of a regular member when serving in his or her absence. <br /> <br />Section 12-17. Powers of the Commission. <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission shall have the <br />following duties: . <br /> <br />-When acting as a planning: agency, to: <br /> <br /> <br />(1) Initiate proposed amendments to this order and make recommendations <br />to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />(2) Prepare studies and plans related to controlling and creating orderly <br />growth and development of the County. <br /> <br />G--13 <br />
