<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # 1-1. 3 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 5/23/05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments - Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Steering Committee <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The HCCBG Steering Committee is appointed every two years to develop a funding <br />recommendation for HCCBG allocations to be used in providing services to older adults. <br />This committee generally meets once or twice per year and requires staff membership and <br />other specific areas of service provider representation. In order to continue to staff the <br />committee as we have in the past and meet membership requirements, including <br />employee representation, it is suggested that the Board exempt the HCCBG Committee <br />from the County's Appointment Policy for Boards and Committees. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Exempt the HCCBG Steering Committee from the Policy for Appointments to Boards and <br />Committees; and approve the attached list of appointments to the HCCBG Steering <br />Committee for two-year terms beginning 7/01/05 through 6/30/07 <br /> <br />Attachments ~ Yes 0 No Expected Length of Presentation 5 minutes <br />Submitted By: Michael L.
