'. Amendment to Agreement for Maintenance and Repairs For Public School Parks in Cabarrus County 1. Purpose Cabarrus County Board of Education has agreed to perform general maintenance and repairs to school park facilities at Cabarrus County and City of Kannapolis School sites. This agreement will only apply to school park sites that are utilized by volunteer community organizations for youth athletic team sports, such as basketball, softball, baseball, soccer and football co-sponsored by Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department (referred as Department). Attached, as Schedule 1 is the list of athletic school/park site facilities. This agreement applies only to those parks listed on this schedule. 2. Duration This amendment to the maintenance/repairs agreement between Cabarrus County Board of Education, Kannapolis Board of Education, and Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners shall be for a term of one year, commencing July 1, 2005 and terminating June 30, 2006. Upon agreement by both parties, this agreement may be renewed for additional terms. 3. School Board Resoonsibilities: a. The Facilities and Operations Director for Cabarrus County Schools will have responsibility for providing maintenance and repairs (as more fully defined below) for all school park facilities. The Director is also authorized to enter into agreements with third parties for maintenance and repairs of school park facilities. b. Reimbursement Rate - All costs of maintenance and repairs completed at school park sites will be reimbursed, to Cabarrus County Schools by Cabarrus County for all labor (time and half rating) plus materials and rental equipment expense for equipment not owned by the school system. 'Mileage will also be billed at the rate of$.40 per mile due to the increase in the cost of gasoline. In the case of third party agreements Cabarrus County will be billed for actual invoice costs including all applicable taxes. c. The maintenance and repairs services provided by the department shall include, but are not limited to: I) Athletic TurfImorovement - this service shall include bi-annual seeding, fertilizing, irrigation repairs/winterization and associated irrigation wells/holding tanks, weeding, aerations, topdressing, of all schooVpark athletic fields. Mowing and trimming turf elements are performed in the regular maintenance and repair agreement. 2) This agreement does not include athletic field work, such as lining, dragging, care of bases, nets, goals, etc. II I:: - J i 2.
