<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 7/14/05 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # F - J 0 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Motor Vehicle Receivable write off <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Per G.S. 150-373 (4) (h) the county commissioners may relieve the tax collector of the <br />charge of taxes on motor vehicles that are one or more years past due when it appears <br />that the taxes are uncollectable. Historically the county commissioners have relieved the <br />tax collector of the charge of these taxes when they become 3 years past due. The tax <br />collector's office has exhausted all means of collections on vehicle taxes due from March <br />2001 through February 2002.
