<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # G . a <br /> <br />Meeting Date 7/14/05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />CabaITUs County Arena and Events Center - Food and Beverage (F&B) Contract <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />SMG, Inc. has submitted a proposal to take over the F&B service at the Cabarrus Arena <br />and Events Center. The county currently contracts with Eurest, Inc. to provide this service. <br />Under the management of Eurest, Inc. the F&B operations have operated at a deficit. The <br />SMG proposal includes an operating budget that will show a profit in the first year. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as prnsented) <br />1. Review and accept SMG's proposal for the F&B service at the CabaITUs Arena. <br />2. Direct County Manager to officially notify Eurest, Inc. of county's intention to discontinue <br />current F&B contract. <br />3. Direct County Manager and County Attorney to review final contract with SMG. <br />4.
