Dear Cabarrus County Commissioners,

AUG - 4 2005

August, 1st, 2005

The Residents of Historic Concord, Inc. respectfully requests to appear before the
Commission, at the next opportunity, concerning the jail and jail annex project. RHC 's intent is
to ask the Commission to preserve the Tribune Building and consider it's use as a public facility
such as a museum. RHC would also state it's support of Piedmont Preservation's effort to
relocate the Propst and Cline houses which are located on the site. Lastly, RHC wishes to express
concerns about facades visible from Washington Lane and South Union St. and the future of the
space on the corner of Corban and Union St.
We will limit our presentation to the fewest speakers and shortest statements possible, and
will fully comply with any time restraints. As President of RHC, I will attend the August 8th,
work session and will gladly answer any questions.

G-4

Thanks,
Heath Ritchie
391 Union St. S
704-425-2731

1/L;Z #--:-
