We appreciate you 'taking that time for Midland,

Last night at our regular council meeting, after discussion and upon vote being taken, Council
unanimously agreed to support the County to perform a feasibility study to determine the cost of
renovating the former school. We wish to also ask that you include a bid invitation to Alley
Williams Carmen and King, Inc. when you begin to price out the cost for the study,

Also discussed in our meeting is the fact that we are immediately facing moving from our
meeting room at the Midland Medical Park. It will no longer be available to us starting in
September of this year. Though it will not help our space problem for a while, we see the former
school as having' many possibilities for Town space, i.e. council chambers and town offices.

Midland will work through committee to get the 27 building on the national registry for historic
buildings and preservation. We will pursue grants for restoration as well.

Sincerely,

t2l.~

AJ Tucker
Mayor of Midland

t--5
