<br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 10/17/05 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # 'F --3 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Request for an additional Senior Elections Clerk in the Board of Elections <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Recommendations have been provided by the Cabarrus County Board of Elections along <br />with the NC State Board of Elections for the addition of a Senior Elections Clerk. The basis <br />of this request stems from the many new laws and regulations that have generated a <br />significant increase in the activity of boards of elections across the state. Intricacies of <br />federal and state elections issues and new legislative mandates concerning the process of <br />the administration of elections boards have radically altered the election process. More <br />details of the request are stated in the attached memo's. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Approve the addition of a Senior Elections Clerk (position #1510005) per attached <br />recommendations and adopt the budget amendment totaling $22,624.
