Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Annual Report for FY 2004-2005 <br /> <br />On behalf of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department, I would like to <br />present the 2004-2005 Fiscal Year Annual Report. <br /> <br />The Annual Report highlights the parks and recreation services offered to all residents <br />of Cabarrus County and the implementation of new parks and recreation improvements. <br />Following are examples: <br /> <br />. Federal Government awarded a $250,000 Federal Land and Water Conservation <br />Grant for development of Pharr Mill Road Park <br />. Opened the first major expansion facilities (camping cabins, tents, restrooms, <br />picnic shelters, boatdock, etc.) at Camp T.N. Spencer Park <br />. Completed a Countywide Bicycle Map/Sign project for over 200 miles of on-road <br />routes <br />. Developed Countywide Greenway Trails Standards in cooperation with <br />municipalities and County <br />. Worked with school systems involving construction of three school/park sites at <br />Kannapolis Middle, Bethel Elementary and Pitts Elementary School Road sites <br /> <br />We appreciate the support and assistance given to the department by the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners, Cabarrus County Manager, Cabarrus County Deputy <br />Manager, Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission, and the citizens of <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />T-I <br />
