<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />t=-~ <br /> <br />Meeting Date 12/19/05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />NCDOT purchase of right-of-way on Harris Road <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />NCDOT has scheduled the construction to replace the bridge on Harris Road over the <br />Rocky River. It is scheduled to begin in April 2006 and to be completed by August 2006. <br />The construction requires purchase of right-of-way and a construction easement from <br />Cabarrus County and NCDOT has offered $1500 in compensation for the purchase. <br />The School Board has requested that the $1500 payment be given to Harris Road Middle <br />School (See attached letter). This item was deferred on November 21 until this meeting at <br />the request of the County Attorney. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br /> <br />Approve the sale of right-of-way and construction easement to NCDOT with permission for <br />the County Manager and County Attorney to complete the transaction. <br /> <br />Consider awarding $1500 to Harris Road Middle School and adopt budget amendment. <br /> <br />Attachments IZI Yes 0 No Expected Length of Presentation <br />Submitted By: Jonathan B.
