<br />Ordinance No. 2005-_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY <br />ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the following sections of the Cabarrus County Zoning <br />Ordinance are hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />Zoning Ordinance Updates <br /> <br />Section 1-1. Title and intent. <br /> <br />This Ordinance shall be known and may be cited as the Cabarrus County <br />Zoning Ordinance. It is the intent of this Ordinance to provide a system of <br />intelligent land usage through the creation of zoning districts and accompanying <br />standards, the creation of an administrative mechanism, and such other allied <br />rules and regulations that enable Cabarrus County goverrunent to fulfill its <br />obligation to provide for and promote the public safety, health, and general <br />welfare of its residents. To that end, these regulations may address, among other <br />things, the following public purposes: to provide adequate light and air; to <br />prevent the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; <br />to lessen congestion in the streets; to secure safety from fire, panic, and dangers; <br />and to facilitate the efficient and adequate provision of transportation, water, <br />sewerage, schools, parks, and other public requirements. <br /> <br />Section 1-17. Bi-annual review. <br /> <br />Beginning the second year following the year of adoption of this Ordinance, <br />the Zoning Administrator will render to the Board of Commissioners a bi-annual, <br />end of the calendar year, report on the state of the Zoning Ordinance and set forth a <br />summary of those changes necessary to both update and/ or refine the Ordinance. <br />Changes summarized in December are to be implemented the following quarter <br />with all due speed. <br /> <br />Section 3-3. Zoning districts designated and purposes listed. <br /> <br />All land and water areas in Cabarrus County, except within the <br />corporate limits of any municipality and their respective extraterritorial zones, if <br />any, are divided into the following districts. Such districts are designed to both <br />assure the compatibility of land uses within each district and to partially implement <br />the officially adopted Cabarrus County Area Plans, and other planning documents <br />which serve as part of the overall county comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />H - ~(b) <br />
