Chapter Thirteen Amendments & Changes Section 13-1. Introduction. TItis Chapter sets forth the procedure by which both the text (written) and the atlas (zoning maps) of the Zoning Ordinance may be changed. It also explains the concept of special use rezoning, a form of rezoning which changes a zoning classification from one to another but limits the number of uses in the new zone. This is in contrast to the regular or traditional rezoning which changes from one zoning classification to another but does not specify use. Instead, all the uses of the new zone, which may be relatively wide ranging, carryover to the new zone. Section 13-2. How to use this Chapter. Refers to those written rules, requirements, etc. known commonly as The Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance. (ii) Atlas. Refers to the official zoning maps bearing the zoning district categories parcel by parcel throughout the County.
