Resolution No. 2003-36 RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE 8T~ CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY WHEREAS, the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina is a member of the 8 Congressional Dlstr~ct Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee; and, WHEREAS, the specific responsibility of the 8~ Congressional District CEDS Committee was to prepare CEDS; and, WHEREAS, the CEDS Committee has completed work on and endorsed a CEDS. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County hereby endorses the 8~ Congressional District CEDS as a tool to direct economic development efforts which will benefit the entire 8~ Congressional Dlstr~ct. Bonds Clerk to the Board (G-13~ Consent A~reement between ~i~_~L-us County and ~atea Pro~mrttes~ LLC fa. the Jaaob's l~dcj~ Subd/viaion Yates Properties, LLC, the developer of the Jacob's Ridge Subdivision, wishes to enter into a Consent Agreement with the Board and has agreed (letter dated November 18, 2003) to donate $1,008.00 per lot to advance adequacy of public schools. The subdivision is located off St~rewalt Road and will include 27 lots on 64.83 acres. The subdivision meets all other regulations and was approved by the Planning and Zonlng Co~ssion sub3ect to the developer entering into a consent agreement to meet the Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance requirements for school facilities. uP(~ ~OTIO~ of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carrled, the Board approved the Consent Agreement with Yates Properties, LLC for the Jacob's Ridge Subdivision and authorized the County Manager to exe.cute the Agreement on behalf of Cabarrus County. The Consent Agreement included the payment of $1,008.00 per single family lot to advance school adequacy with the payment to be made at the issuance of the building permitting. The Grant is for the administrative and capital expense of the Cabarrus Community Transportation System (CCTS). The achnlnlstratlve grant amount applied for is $145,000.00 and the capital grant amount applied for is $245,000.00, including advanced technology and personnel development funding. The required County match for the administrative funding (15%) is $21,750.00 and capital funding (10%) $24,500.00.
