,glle ANALYSIS

The topography of the project site slopes from Pharr Mill Road to Rocky River with a drainage
ditch running from the small pond east to Rocky River, ^pproximately 12.5 ^C of the site are
in the 100 Year Floodplain ^E Zone, (See attached site analysis for topography. Please note
that contours are shown at 4' intervals.)

There are four predominant soils on-site. The majority of the site is Enon sandy loam 2-8%
slope and 8-15% slope (EnB, END). This soil is ideally suited for crops or pasture. It is well
drained and slowly permeable. The second soil found is Pacolet sandy loam (PaF) mainly
found in woodland, however, due to slope it is unsuitable for most active recreational activities.
It consists of well-drained and moderately permeable soils. The third soil found is Chewacla
sandy loam (Ch), mainly found as woodland due to frequent flooding and is sometimes suited
for crops or pasture. Because of flooding, it is not suited to most urban and recreational uses.
This series of soil consists of somewhat poorly drained, moderately permeable soils on nearly
level floodplains. The fourth soil found on site is Iredell loam (laF) mainly found with crops,
pasture, and woodland. It consists of moderately well drained, slowly permeable soils. (See
attached site analysis drawings for approximate soil type locations.)

14/ildliFe and Nafural Vegetation
The trees located on site consist of a mix of pines, beech, and maple, all relatively immature.
The vast majority of wildlife living or transversing on this site consists of raccoons, possum,
deer, and native birds. No known threatened or endangered species exist on-site.

4.
A small area of wetlands occurs immediately downstream of the small pond. It has been
delineated, but not surveyed at this time. (,See attached map for approximate location of
wetlands.) This wetland is mainly utilized for flood control.

5. Areas of Archaeological or Hisfori~ Value
The proposed park surrounds a small cemetery belonging to Rocky River Presbyterian Church.
It is believed that a small log cabin chapel existed on-site. The exact location is unknown, but
it existed approximately 1754.

Wafer Eesources
The site features a small pond located centrally just off Pharr Mill Road. A small drainage ditch
runs east from the pond to Rocky River for approximately 700 feet. The unnamed pond and
ditch lie within the Yadkin River Basin. The flow of the drainage ditch varies with rainfall.
Except for the pond, no significant groundwater exists on this site. (See attached site analysis
for approximate location of pond and drainage ditch.)
