(Bobby) Smith (~) <br />Emergency Managem'6n{ <br /> <br />Cc: John Day <br /> County Manager <br /> <br />Date: January 30, 2004 <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />2003 Homeland Security Grant supplement <br /> <br />The North Carolina Division of Emergency Management has awarded a supplemental grant to the original <br />Homeland Security Terrorism Grant 2003 to Cabarms County Emergency Management for the amount of <br />$403,418. This supplemental grant is to be used to purchase equipment (exp. decontamination shelters <br />w/equipment, personal protection equipment, communications, surveillance, chemical sensors) for <br />emergency response in the event of a terrorist attack involving Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in <br />the county. Agencies participating in this grant are: Fire, VFD, Police, Sheriff, EMS, Hospital, and Health <br />Alliance. <br /> <br />Attached you will find the required budget amendment information in order for the county to receive the <br />supplemental grant and to begin to make purchases with final approval from the State. This grant will <br />work in the same manner as the previous Terrorism Grant in that the county will purchase the equipment <br />and request reimbursement from the State when the equipment has been delivered. <br /> <br />65 Church Street, SE., PO Box 707.
