SUBJECT <br /> <br />To ensure adequate preparedness for a response to an act of terrorism within the State of North <br />Carolina, funding has been provided for the development and presentation of exercises for local <br />governments. <br /> <br />H. PURPOSE <br /> <br />The Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management <br />(Division of EM) and the County of Cabarms will enter into an agreement to provide funding for <br />the costs associated with developing and conducting weapons of mass destruction (WMD) <br />exercises. <br /> <br />The parties to this Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) are: North Carolina Department of <br />Crime Control & Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management and the County of <br />Cabarms. <br /> <br />IV. BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), through the Office of the Assistant Attorney General, <br />Office of Justice Programs (OIP) has made funds available to provide the funds to implement the <br />Staie Domestic Preparedness Strategic Plan of November 2001. <br /> <br />The State of North Carolina, Department of Crime Control and Public Safety (CCPS), Division <br />of Emergency Management (Division of ElY0 and the County of Cabarms enter into an <br />arrangement by which the Division of EM will provide subgrant funding to the County of <br />Cabarms for the costs associated with developing and conducting WlVID exercises. <br /> <br /> <br />
