<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Effectlve April 25, 2003, the County terminated our business
<br />relationship with Tax Reduction Specialist; therefore, any business that had
<br />started needed to cease by May 25, 2003. Any in-process work that was completed
<br />during this time period would be settled once proper confirms=ion was received
<br />from the NC Dept. of Revenue and Tax Reduction Specialist. The audit completed
<br />was Northeast Medical Center. Payment for services rendered were not budget in
<br />the original FY 2004 budget; therefore, sales tax purchased services will be
<br />amended to reflect the completion of the audit discovery.

<br />DEPARTMENT OF Emergency Management
<br />AMOUNT: $403,418.00
<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT. Supplemental Request
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST. The NC Div. of Emergency Management has awarded a
<br />supplemental grant to the original Homeland Security Terrorism Grant 2003 to
<br />Cabarrus County Emergency Management totaling $403,418. This supplemental grant
<br />is to be used to purchase equipment such as decontamination shelters w/equipment,
<br />personal protection equipment, communications, surveillance, chemical sensors for
<br />emergency response in the event of a terrorist attack involving Weapons of Mass
<br />Destruction (WMD) in the county. Agencies participating in this grant are: Fire,
<br />VFD, Police, Sheriff, EMS, Hospital, and Health Alliance.

<br />addmtlonal funding under the 2002 Homeland Security Grant by North Carolmna
<br />Emergency Management in the amount of $5,134. This funding is to be used for the
<br />purpose of purchasing training in preparation of a weapons-of-mass destruction
<br />or terrorist incident specifically, the 'Homeland Security 2004 Plan", live fire
<br />exercise
