APPENDIX B - STREET CONNECTIVITY <br /> <br />Section 1. Definitions <br /> <br />The phrase "connectavity ratio" means the number of street links divided by the number of nodes or <br />link ends, ~ncluding cul-de-sac heads. <br /> <br />A "lm.k" means and refers to that portmn of a street defined by a node at each end or at one end. <br />Approved stubs to adjacent property shall be considered hnks. However, alleys shall not be considered <br />lmks. <br /> <br />A "node" refers to the terminus of a street or the intersection of two (2) or more streets, except that <br />intersecUons that use a roundabout shall not be counted as a node. For the purposes of th~s sectton, an <br />~ntersection shall be defined as: <br /> <br />any curve or bend of a street that fails to meet the minimum curve radius as estabhshed in the <br />second table of Section C.4 of Appendix C; or <br /> <br />2. any locatton where street names change (as reviewed and approved by the Adrnmxstrator). <br /> <br />Section 2. General Standards <br /> <br />For purposes of this subsection, the street hnks and nodes within the collector or thorouglffare streets <br />providing access to a proposed subdivision shall not be considered in computing the counect~vity ratio. <br /> <br />Streets shall be designed so as to rmnunize the block length of local streets, to prowde safe access to <br />residences w~th mimmal need for steep driveways and to maintain connectivity between and through <br />residential neighborhoods for autos and pedestrians. <br /> <br /> <br />
