He began his career with Cabarrus County EMS in 1974.
After a five-year break to work for h~s family's store he returned to his first love - helping others through EMS.

James has a one of a kind personality that has brightened even the worst situations that are commonly found in EMS. He
has also been a great asset in his ability to exhibit calmness in the most stressing s~tuations. James has passed on this
tra~t to younger employees throughout his career. He started as a basic EMT and advanced to become one of the first
Paramedics in Cabarrus County reaching this level at a time when the Paramedic level was new in the area. James has
continued to advance with the EMS system which requires constant ongoing training.

James has always shown true compassion and dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus County. You won't find a better
bedside manner anywhere. James will be missed at EMS. We wish him all the best in his retirement.
