Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Budget Amendments - Parks and Recreation Department - Pharr Mill <br />Road Park <br /> <br />On January 26, 2004, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approved <br />permission for staff to formally submit a matching $250,000 North Carolina Parks and <br />Recreation Trust Fund Grant to construct an undeveloped 37 acre site on Pharr Mill <br />Road. With Cabarrus County's matching share of $250,000 and the State Grant of <br />$250,000, the total of $500,000 will construct the Phase I at Pharr Mill Road Park and it <br />will include the following: <br /> <br />· Restrooms/picnic shelter building <br />· Picnic sites <br />· Horseshoe pits <br />· Walking/biking trail <br />· Boardwalk <br />· Landscaping <br />· Roadwayand parking areas <br /> <br />On May 21,2004, the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Authority awarded a <br />matching reimbursable grant of $250,000 toward Phase I of Pharr Mill Road Park. The <br />following two budget amendments are required to provide funds for this matching state <br />grant. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
