Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />(~-2) Desi~nation of the Remainin~ Portion of Pitts Fire District that Was <br />Not Annexed by the City o~ Concord as the 'Concord Rural Fira Protection <br />District" <br /> <br /> Bobby Smith, Emergency Management Director, reported on the 1991 <br />contract for the City of Concord to provide fire protection services to the <br />remaining Pitts Fire District south of 1-85 that was not annexed into the <br />City. Due to an error, the Office of the State Fire Marshal dissolved the <br />entire Pitts Fire District. The Office is now requesting an updated map of <br />the remaining Pitts Fire District and that it be designated as the "Concord <br />Rural Fire Protection District". <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution <br />designating the remaining P~tts Fire District as the "Concord Rural Fire <br />Protect ~on District" <br /> Resolut ~on NO 2004-24 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1991 Cabarrus County entered into a contract with the City of <br />Concord to provide fire protection services to the remaining Pitts Fire <br />District located south of Interstate 85 that was not annexed into the City of <br />Concord, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to an error, the Office of the State Fire Marshal dissolved the <br />Pitts Fire District in its entlrety, and; <br /> <br />WMEREAS, an inspection by the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Office in <br />December of 2003 found areas in the Pitts Fire District south of Interstate <br />85 had not been annexed into the City of Concord, and; <br /> <br />W~EREAS, the Office of the State Fire Marshal is requesting that only an <br />updated GIS map of this remaining area be submitted to the Office of the <br />State Fire Marshal- and that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />designate this remaining area as the 'Concord Rural Fire Protection <br />District"; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby designate that the remaining area of the Pitts Fire <br />District as shown on the attached GIS map, located at Highway 29 and Morehead <br />Road; Stowe Lane; and at Old Holland Road and Weddington Road Extension, be <br />named the "Concord Rural Fire Protection District", and said map to be filed <br />with the Office of the State Fire Marshal. <br /> <br /> Adopted this 15~h day of June 2004 <br /> /s/ Robert M.
