He may execute contracts with outside agencies to properly document budgeted appropriations to such agencies where G.S 15 A-248(b), 259, 449 and any similar statutes require such contracts. 7. Bonds, Clerk to the Board (~-2) Desi~nation of the Remainin~ Portion of Pitts Fire District that Was Not Annexed by the City o~ Concord as the 'Concord Rural Fira Protection District" Bobby Smith, Emergency Management Director, reported on the 1991 contract for the City of Concord to provide fire protection services to the remaining Pitts Fire District south of 1-85 that was not annexed into the City. Due to an error, the Office of the State Fire Marshal dissolved the entire Pitts Fire District. The Office is now requesting an updated map of the remaining Pitts Fire District and that it be designated as the "Concord Rural Fire Protection District". UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution designating the remaining P~tts Fire District as the "Concord Rural Fire Protect ~on District" Resolut ~on NO 2004-24 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, in 1991 Cabarrus County entered into a contract with the City of Concord to provide fire protection services to the remaining Pitts Fire District located south of Interstate 85 that was not annexed into the City of Concord, and; WHEREAS, due to an error, the Office of the State Fire Marshal dissolved the Pitts Fire District in its entlrety, and; WMEREAS, an inspection by the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Office in December of 2003 found areas in the Pitts Fire District south of Interstate 85 had not been annexed into the City of Concord, and; W~EREAS, the Office of the State Fire Marshal is requesting that only an updated GIS map of this remaining area be submitted to the Office of the State Fire Marshal- and that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners designate this remaining area as the 'Concord Rural Fire Protection District"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners does hereby designate that the remaining area of the Pitts Fire District as shown on the attached GIS map, located at Highway 29 and Morehead Road; Stowe Lane; and at Old Holland Road and Weddington Road Extension, be named the "Concord Rural Fire Protection District", and said map to be filed with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
