<br />The Cabnrrua County Boaal of,~ducation met on Thursday, July 22, 2004 to discuss the replacement of the
<br />auxiliary gym at Northwest Cm1~ixts High School. The replaoement is needed due to the original auxiliary
<br />gym burning down last ycar.~-l!'i.has taken tame for the insurance settlement. In order to replace the gym wdh
<br />the two classrooms that were included in thc ori~,inal g]nn, our budget is short $150,000. The llonrd would
<br />like to repl~c the gym with the addition o£ the two classrooms, but our thnds are limited, and in order to do
<br />this, we ar,e,~. I~.~ , ,s~king for your help.

<br />Wc have .w0rk, e.d to.g.c, ther to try and provide space for om' students, Anytime we can provide facilities with
<br />additional classi'ooms, we are prolonging the need for mobile units. As you know, mobile units cost money
<br />and this is,;a..w,.~ty~t~ deJayjthat,nluch of nn expense at this ~tme,
<br />
<br />We want to wbrk witti the Commissioners reiptrding our needs, as evidenced by the Board electing not to
<br />pursue the mediation issues to thc Court System. The Board does; however, ask the cooperation of thc
<br />Commissioners with funding necd~ for the school system. Thc request tbr $150,000 is for additional
<br />classrooms, n.~t .e,.,t~. n.n.ccmcnt,$:t~o ~he auxiliary 8yin.
