Meeting Date 8/16/04 <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Amendment One: Self-Financing Bonds <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Self-Financing Bonds can be used to pay for public improvements that spur private <br />development in small communities and inner-city areas, including: Reuse of abandoned <br />textile or furniture factories; affordable housing; commercial development; redevelopment <br />of brown fields; and reconstruction following natural disasters.
