CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION <br /> BOND RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the enrollment of the Cabarrus County Schools continues to increase at the <br />rate of approximately 1,000 students per year; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Education's projections indicate a critical <br />need for a new high school and two new elementary schools in the next three (3) years; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, W.R. Odell Elementary School is badly deteriorated and in need of <br />replacement; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A.T. Allen Elementary School is in need of renovations; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Northwest Cabarms High School must have new science labs; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord High School desperately needs a new media center; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County have determined that the <br />most appropriate means to finance these projects is through a bond referendum; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Education wishes to join hands with the <br />Cabarms Board of County Commissioners in presenting a bond referendum to the public which <br />will address these critical capital needs. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Cabarms County Board of Education unanimously resolves to <br />request the Cabarms County Board of Commissioners to place a bond referendum on the <br />November 2, 2004 ballot which includes the following items for the Cabarrus County Schools: <br /> <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br /> <br />New High School $ 35,408,510 <br />Odell Replacement $ 13,728,620 <br />A.T.
