Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Budget Amendment - Parks and Recreation Department - Pharr Mill <br />Road Park <br /> <br />On January 26, 2004, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners authorized the <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department to formally submit a matching <br />$250,000 North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant to construct an <br />undeveloped 37 acre site on Pharr Mill Road. With Cabarrus County's matching share <br />of $250,000 and the State Grant of $250,000, the total of $500,000 will construct Phase <br />I at Pharr Mill Road Park and it will include the following: <br /> <br />. Restroom/picnic shelter building <br />. Picnic sites <br />. Horseshoe pits <br />. Walking/biking trail <br />. Boardwalk <br />. Landscaping <br />. Roadway and parking areas <br /> <br />On May 21, 2004, the North Carolina Park and Recreation Trust Authority awarded a <br />matching reimbursable grant of $250,000 toward Phase I of Pharr Mill Road Park. The <br />following budget amendment is required to provide the funds for this awarded matching <br />reimbursable State Grant. Cabarrus County's matching share of $250,000 was funded <br />via the Capital Reserve Fund. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
