While we have indicated on the form acceptance of the funding and related terms and conditions, our acceptance is naturally subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners. The Department of Social Services is submitting a request for the Board of Commissioners to authorize creation of the positions at the Board's regular monthly meeting of 10-18- 04. As Cabarrus County is fully utilizing T ANF Block Grant and County MaE funds, we understand that we are not required to submit a plan under the requirement stated in item number 1 of the Statement of Acceptance Form. The Department will submit to the Board of Commissioners a request for the establishment of three (3) CPS Investigator positions. The funding being allocated to Cabarrus County is for the total costs, including all overhead costs, associated with these positions. The cost of supervision is a major component of overhead costs associated with any direct services position. The addition of three CPS Investigator positions will necessitate the addition of a Social Work Supervisor position to maintain the one supervisor to five social workers ratio recommended by state policy.
