The Department of Social <br />Services is submitting a request for the Board of Commissioners to authorize <br />creation of the positions at the Board's regular monthly meeting of 10-18- <br />04. <br /> <br />As Cabarrus County is fully utilizing T ANF Block Grant and County <br />MaE funds, we understand that we are not required to submit a plan under <br />the requirement stated in item number 1 of the Statement of Acceptance <br />Form. <br />The Department will submit to the Board of Commissioners a request <br />for the establishment of three (3) CPS Investigator positions. The funding <br />being allocated to Cabarrus County is for the total costs, including all <br />overhead costs, associated with these positions. The cost of supervision is a <br />major component of overhead costs associated with any direct services <br />position. The addition of three CPS Investigator positions will necessitate <br />the addition of a Social Work Supervisor position to maintain the one <br />supervisor to five social workers ratio recommended by state policy.
