<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # f:"- I 0 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 10/18/04 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Establish position 5650001 one (1) Social Worker II/ Case Manager in the Community <br />Alternatives Program (CAP) at DSS. <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The county has experienced an increased enrollment in the CAP Program because more <br />elderly and disabled adults are desiring to remain in their homes, therefore, reducing <br />nursing home placement. The increased processing time creates delays for the elderly <br />and disabled clients because of the heavier caseload on the Case Manager and Social <br />Workers. Clients are at risk of premature placement or neglect. The position will ensure <br />the county's state guidelines of 30 clients per CAP case manager. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (suggested motion ífthe Board approves the agenda Item as presented) <br />Recommend approval of budget amendment establishing position 5650001 to maintain <br />the county's established caseload limit of 30 clients per CAP case managers. <br /> <br />Attachments ~ Yes 0 No Expected Length of Presentation <br />Submitted By: James F.
