<br />This is a 44.3% increase from the 2000 population figure. There are several things to be <br />considered when projecting population data, these include the new 1-485 interchange, <br />the widening of Hwy 24/27 in Mecklenburg County, new water and sewer projects and the <br />growing metropolis of Charlotte heading in the Midland Plan Area direction. Between January 15\ <br />1990 and July 315\ 2003, 313 new housing units were added to the plan area.
