<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to establish a full time office
<br />assistant positi()n, 181007, in Information Technology Services, and delete
<br />part time office; assistant positions, 1810401 and 1815401. Further, the
<br />Board adopted the following budget amendment:

<br />the same office space. A single full time position would be more efficient.

<br />(1'-16) Letter of Support for the 'Federal Version of the New Source Review
<br />(NSR) Rule!
<br />
<br />The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources is
<br />holding public hearings on proposed amendments to the New Resource Review
<br />(NSR) rules relating to air quality permitting for new and expanding
<br />industries. Industry leaders in North Carolina have requested support for
<br />Option 2 of the proposed amendments to those rules as the most effective and
<br />fair to business and industry. North Carolina has been a leader in air
<br />quality protectiQn through the Clean Smokestacks Act and 'these proposed
<br />amendments will not impact the protection of that Act.

<br />UPON MOTIO~ of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to support Option 2 of the proposed
<br />amendments to th. NSR rules and to send the following letter of support to
<br />Mr. Thomas Allen with the North Carolina Department of Environment and
<br />Natural Resources.
